ezhi&aka was started as a pedal building hobby of two friends. Their nicknames gave the future project its name.
Now it’s me, Alexey Kruglov (aka), who develops, tests and builds pedals in Yaroslavl, Russia.
The other one, Egor Urazbaev (ezhi), was crucial to get this going but moved on and is now a Middle+ Test Automation Engineer!
ezhi&aka focuses on broken sounds, weird concepts and creative usefulness of these beautiful noisemakers.
That being said, these pedals can be harsh, noisy, lofi, sound broken or completely messed up.
The main philosophy behind the designs is trying to create strange but captivating sounds in a weirdly beautiful package using the limited possibilities old 90s audio chips provide.
This adds to the whole weirdness and that true low sound quality.
I intentionally use minimum filtering, allow ticks and squeals to pass into the signal – but only when the pedal is on.
There are tons of great effects on the market which sound clean and gorgeous.
And I am here to provide broken sounds.
Though I cannot achieve ‘factory-grade build quality’ at my small workshop, I check every component and every solution and build pedals with great love.
Everything is made/built/soldered/designed/finished in house with little to no outsource. (pcbs are from overseas).
Every good and bad thing about these pedals was done by me and I hold full responsibility for them.

I’m not supporting russian government and any military actions and awful war crimes. I’m just a guy with brain issues who tries to survive. Thank you very much for taking a risk and ordering pedals from me now, it saves me. If the pedal business finally fails, I’ll just go carry heavy stuff like I used to before the pedals. But let’s hope I can bring more weirdness and noise to your setups for as long as possible and even longer.
