I use ink melting and toner transfer for enclosure design.

They are both unpredictable processes, you can only ‘feel’ or guess the results as you are applying the design, which makes each result unique.

Designs will fade away and get destroyed for something new to be born.

Imperfections and small quirks appear in different places, color and contrast of each small portion of the design depends on different casting patterns of the aluminum enclosure.

Each time it’s a fight between me and the process, each time it’s a surprise. Each result is slightly different and it’s the main reason I don’t move to a more efficient design application method.

My pedals are all about oddity and their ink melted and tonal transferred designs are an irreplaceable part of their weirdness and beauty.
